Lessons Learned

Life is filled with learning experiences. Consider times when you have done something against your better judgment. Perhaps you agreed to something that conflicts with your integrity. Maybe you have faith in someone whose behavior lets you down. You may have tried to help someone and got hurt in the end.

Trust Yourself

Your inner guidance will provide insight by offering a "gut reaction." Think back to a time when you were trying to determine your response to a situation. Perhaps you chose to do something or help another even though you had a "bad feeling" about the situation. Maybe you asked someone a question and could "feel" they were being dishonest. Your "intuition" will guide you; trust yourself.

Never Assume

People are creatures of habit. We tend to respond to circumstances in a consistent manner time after time because it is what we know, and we count on others to do the same. When we expect someone to respond a certain way and they act differently than expected, we can feel hurt or betrayed. This is a wonderful opportunity to reflect and determine if your expectations were justified. The other person may have no idea they let you down; ask questions and communicate clearly.

Let Others Learn

Many of us want to help others. As carrying individuals, we feel compelled to impart our wisdom upon others in an effort to help shield them from pain we have endured. What if your "assistance" is preventing the other person from learning their own life lessons? Consider all the knowledge you gained from your experiences; let others have their opportunities.

Each experience is filled with life lessons; enjoy the education, learn, and move on.
