Perception is Reality
Consider the phrase: the way you see anything is the way you see everything. Each of us has our own life experiences. From them, we create an understanding of how life is... through our own lenses, based upon our personal experiences. With that in mind, is it possible that there are as many versions of reality as there are people considering the situation?
Are you open?
When someone is trying to explain their thought process for doing or not doing something, we often hear, "blah, blah, blah, blah, blah," because we have already decided how things should have been and see how things are [from our vantage point] and all we want is to know why there is a discrepancy. To top it of, rarely do we truly desire to listen to the explanation.
What if...
...you considered the situation from the other person's perspective? Imagine trying to understand from their point of view rather than only seeing things through your lenses. How many times in the past have you "known" you are right to only realize that perhaps each perspective was accurate or maybe the other person made good points as well. If you had taken time to consider the circumstances from a variety of lenses you may have even come up with more solutions than you were able to see originally.
Practice Makes Perfect
The more you practice considering life from multiple perspective, the better you will be at solving challenges as they arise because you will have increased your insight. Each day, allow yourself to identify a variety of ways to address a particular situation and realize all the options life provides.
The way you see anything is the way you see everything; focus on your desired outcome.
